New Delhi: After TVF founder Arunabh Kumar, sexual harassment charges have been levelled against ScoopWhoop co-founder, Suparn Pandey.
After receiving a complaint, Delhi police has filed an FIR under sections 354 A (sexual harassment), section 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman), and section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, based on the complaint filed.
The complainant has claimed that during her tenure at ScoopWhoop, which lasted two years from 2015 to 2016, she faced 'inappropriate comments and lewd remarks' the entire time. Pandey even went on to comment on her sexuality, a report by Catch News states.
The Delhi police has issued a notice to Pandey after the FIR was filed. Pandey has moved for anticipatory bail in the court of Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) and the court has given the police five days to reply.
Her ordeal was not limited to verbal harassment, the complainant has claimed that Pandey repeatedly got 'uncomfortably close', 'often trying to play with her hair'. He unabashedly even sent her a lewd video on the company's official Gmail chat, the FIR alleges, as reported by Mumbai Mirror.
The complainant further mentioned that Suparn used to show up at work drunk and tried to get intimate with her while she was alone at her desk.
The complainant also named the other two ScoopWhoop co-founders, Sriparna Tikekar and Sattvik Mishra, for abetting the harassment. The complaint states that when she approached them for help, they tried to prevent her from pursuing the complaint and brushed it under the carpet. (Times Now)
