The Delhi Police on Monday filed a chargesheet against the man arrested for allegedly demanding ransom from the family of missing Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Najeeb Ahmed.
The chargesheet claims that the 20-year-old accused Shamim had demanded Rs. 20 lakh for his release and made the ransom call to Najeeb's relative to release him.
The chargesheet also claimed that the police have recovered mobile phones and SIM cards which were used in making ransom calls.
Shamim who was arrested in January from Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj, also allegedly committed a murder when he was under 18 and spent five months in juvenile home. (ANI)
