Jeff Goldblum officially joins 'Jurassic World' sequel

Los Angeles : 'Life always finds a way' and looks like, it finally has. According to Hollywood Reporter, Jeff Goldblum who starred in the original 'Jurassic Park,' has joined the cast of 'Jurassic World 2.'

The 64-year-old-actor played the role of Ian Malcolm, a know-it-all mathematician in both 1993's 'Jurassic Park' and 1997's 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park.'

JA Bayona, known for directing 'A Monster Calls,' is directing the next installment in Universal's hit franchise.

The movie earned 1.67 billion USD worldwide in 2015 and is the fourth-highest-grossing film in history.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are confirmed to return for the sequel, which also stars Toby Jones, James Cromwell and Justice Smith.

Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first ' Jurassic World' movie, wrote the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly.

Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again joined executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow in the next chapter of the franchise.

Belen Atienza is also producing. Universal vp production Sara Scott is overseeing production on behalf of the studio.

On a related note, Goldblum will be next seen in Disney and Marvel's 'Thor: Ragnarok' as the Grandmaster. The flick stars Chris Hemsworth in titular role with Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba in pivotal roles.

The movie is slated to release on November 3. (ANI)
