Nagpur: In order to encourage digital transactions and a cashless economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced an incentive programme for the BHIM-Aadhaar digital payment platform.

Under the referral bonus scheme, both the existing user who refers the BHIM App and the new user who adopts the BHIM App would get a cash bonus credited directly to their account.

“There is a scheme called referral. If you invite someone to use the BHIM App and the person you invite conducts three transactions on the App, you will receive Rs 10 cash back in your bank account. In a day, if you recommend BHIM to around 20 people, Rs 200 will be deposited in your account,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

The Prime Minister was speaking at 126th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar at the Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, where he launched BHIM Aadhaar – a cashless payment mode based on the biometric identification of thumbprint.

PM Modi stated that the BHIM-Aadhaar digital payments platform can revolutionise the Indian economy by enabling each Indian to pay digitally using their biometric data on a smartphone.

Launching the BHIM-Aadhar digital platform here, Modi said it would boost digital payments in a manner unprecedented anywhere in the world and would be a step towards a 'less-cash' economy and a fight against corruption and black money. (Times Now)
