White House Communications Director Mike Dubke has resigned from his post, the Washington Post quoted a senior administration official as saying.

Dubke's resignation comes three months after he was hired by President Donald Trump.

As per the Washington Post, President Trump has accepted Dubke's resignation.

Dubke's last day as White House Communications Director is likely to be Tuesday and he is expected to meet with his staff at the White House.

Dubke, who has worked closely with White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, was trying to help restructure the press and communications operation.

Dubke came under sharp criticism from President Trump and many senior officials for not being able to do his job properly apparently in the aftermath of the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

The Trump campaign's Senior Communications Adviser Jason Miller, who was slated to be Communications Director in the White House originally, had refused the post as he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Dubke was brought in to be Communications Director after White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was asked to focus on the briefing job.

The Communications Director at the White House is responsible for developing and promoting the president's agenda of the President and leading the media campaign of the White House. (ANI)
