Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to Arsenal’s big London rivals Chelsea. Arsene Wenger has said he remains 100 per cent certain Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will sign a new deal with Arsenal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain only has one year to run on his contract, and Sky Sports report that he has told Gunners boss Arsene Wenger he has “no intention of signing the extension on offer”.
That has alerted Chelsea and Antonio Conte, who is looking to bolster his squad in the hope of challenging on all fronts next season.
But Wenger remains 100 per cent confident the 23-year-old former Southampton man will sign a new deal, despite the Gunners not playing Champions League football next season.
The likes of Liverpool and Manchester City are also believed to be closely monitoring Oxlade-Chamberlain’s situation at the Emirates.
SunSport reported earlier this month how one stumbling block to Oxlade-Chamberlain signing a new deal could be assurances on his first-team future.
The Ox was waiting for a new contract offer from the Gunners, but he also wants a regular place in the starting line-up.
