After the Pakistani Supreme court on Friday disqualified Nawaz Sharif from the post of the country's Prime Minister, the Congress on Friday said that the country's political structure is unstable and it's difficult to comment upon the future.
"It's extremely difficult to comment on Pakistan's political structure. Pakistan has a very unstable political structure," Congress leader Salman Khurshid said.
Commenting upon the possible India-Pakistan relations, Khurshid asserted that it's a big question as to how the India-Pakistan relations would be.
"Despite the India-Pak relations becoming extremely disturbing in the recent months, there was some hope in the way, in which, Mr. Sharif would respond. The question, which arises, is if the replacement would be equally inclined towards finding solution, or would it be difficult. Only time can answer the question", Khurshid said.
The Congress leader added, "The Pakistani Army's involvement in the country's politics has been an issue for a long time. The relations between the nation's Army and Sharif have not been very good. It's difficult to predict the situation now."
Independent Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar told ANI that it was not good news for India, if Pakistan undergoes a political instability.
"It's not good news for India, if Pakistan undergoes political instability. I am not aware of their legal system. But I hope it doesn't affect their infant democracy," Rajeev said.
Rajeev expressed his apprehension over the Pakistan Army taking over the nation.
"I am more concerned over the fact that this doesn't lead to a situation, where the Pakistani Army steps up to take over the country," he said.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistani Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif from holding public office in a landmark decision on the Panama Papers case.
Following this, Nawaz Sharif's brother Shehbaz Sharif was declared as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan. (ANI)
