Himachal: Tod valley of Lahaul, Spiti districts receive fresh snowfall

Shimla : Despite of the heat wave condition prevailing in major parts of the country, Tod valley in Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh have witnessed a fall in temperature with fresh snowfall on Sunday.

The temperature in Shimla which was running by 28 degree a few days back reduced to a few notches after the fresh spell of rain and snowfall.

Keylong was recorded the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of four degree Celsius followed by Kalpa with six degrees, Manali 8.6 degrees,

Shimla 11.3 degrees, Nahan 13 degrees, Solan and Bhuntar 15 degrees each, Sundernagar 16 degrees and Kangra and Una 18.5 degrees each respectively.

A local resident Rahul Thakur said, "The snowfall would benefit the agricultural crop. Snowfall has brought relief from high temperature and has been beneficial for crops."

Border Road Organization (BRO) officer in Command Arvil Jain said that the inclement in weather condition has hit the road clearing efforts.

He said, "Fresh spell of snow and avalanche warning has hit the snow clearing work. Now it would take few more days." (ANI)
