After ousted Delhi minister Kapil Mishra was attacked by a person, while he was on a hunger strike, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said that the incident was shocking and shameful, adding that it showed how low the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) could stoop to.

"This is shocking and shameful. Every citizen of India has the right to expose corruption. The police must increase Kapil Mishra's security. I am shocked to see this. There must be an investigation into this," Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari told ANI.

Echoing similar sentiment, another BJP leader R.P. Singh asserted that AAP was afraid of facing questions posed by Kapil Mishra.

"This categorically shows that how low the Aam Aadmi Party and their leaders can stoop to. They can't face the questions asked by Kapil Mishra, or raised by the media. This is extremely shocking. They used to say that we will answer every question by the Aam Aadmi. Now, their own colleague is asking questions, which are supported by documents. Instead of answering them, they are stooping to this level," Singh said.

A person earlier today tried to attack Mishra, while he was on a hunger strike demanding the reasons behind few AAP leaders' foreign trips in the last two years.

The attacker, however, was overpowered by Mishra's supporters.

Later, Ankit said he wanted to attack Kapil because he had harmed the AAP.

The Delhi Police have arrested Ankit.

Mishra has asked AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to tell where party leaders - Sanjay Singh, Ashish Khetan, Satyendar Jain, Raghav Chadha and Durgesh Pathak - got the money from to fund their various foreign trips. (ANI)
