Kashmir : Amidst cross-border tension between India and Pakistan, a group of amateur cricketers of Kashmir donned Pakistan's cricket jersey and played a local match in the Wayil playfield in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A video surfaced on YouTube where the cricketers from Baba Darya Ud Din team is seen wearing the traditional green jersey of India's arch-rivals while their opponents wore whites. The Pakistan national anthem was also played as a 'mark of respect'. A member of the team told InUth.com, “We wanted our team to look different and also wanted to show fellow Kashmiris that we haven’t forgotten Kashmir issue, so we found this particular theme as most appropriate and catchy.”
“Why should we be scared when Kashmir is a disputed territory and Allah is with us?” said another cricketer.
