North Dinajpur : The West Bengal Police on Wednesday assured to take action against the smugglers after they received complaint from the Border Security Force (BSF) who has discovered the 100 metre tunnel between India and Bangladesh border built for cattle smuggling.
The BSF believes that the tunnel was being built by the cattle smugglers to minimise the risk of detection by them.
Superintendent of Police, Amit Kumar told ANI, "We have received information about the tunnel by the BSF. We would immediately take action against the cattle smugglers once we receive complaint from the Security."
The BSF has found an 80-metre-long tunnel being dug through a tea garden by suspected cattle smugglers near the Chopra-Fatehpur border outpost.
The tunnel was found in north Bengal adjacent to Kishanganj. (ANI)
