It’s a little bit late but Android Wear 2.0 is finally making its way to the second generation Moto 360. The same has also been confirmed recently from Motorola’s official Twitter account. Although, Motorola was unable to provide any details on when the update would come for the Moto 360 Sport.

With Android Wear 2.0, your smartwatch will have the Play Store app built in, so that you can easily install apps without using your phone for this. The apps will also be stored on your smartwatch, to reduce dependency on the phone. The on-board launcher has also been redesigned to suit smartwatches of different screen shapes.

Wear 2.0 also brings support for rotational input, but that functionality is unfortunately left unusable with the current gen Moto 360. Even though Android Pay is tagging along with Wear 2.0, this too pretty much remains useless on the 2nd gen Moto 360 as the smartwatch doesn’t feature NFC.

The new update also allows recognition of handwriting on your smartwatch making typing messages a bit more easier. Along with the addition of the Google Assistant, Android Wear 2.0 also improves on the notification cards interface and brings better integration with fitness apps too. In the meantime, Motorola is currently working hard to make the Moto Z2 Play a reality.
