After achieving a remarkable feat of backing up more than 1.2 billion photos/videos per day and 500 million active users per month, Google photos has crossed 1 billion installs on the Play Store.

Google Photos, which was launched 2 years back in May, is a photo storage and sharing site developed by Google. At its recently held I/O 2017 developer conference, Google announced new features for Google Photos, in addition to boasting the 1.2 billion photo uploads per day.

The new features include Google Lens, Suggested sharing, Library sharing, and Google Photo books. Also, yesterday Google introduced photo archiving in Google Photos that lets you hide your photos.

To archive a photo, hold the photo/s and tap the three vertical dots present in the top right corner followed by selecting Archive from the menu. You can find your archived photos under a new folder “Archive” present in the side navigation drawer.
