Samsung India on Saturday introduced its Smart Healthcare programme that provides affordable and quality healthcare to patients from the economically and socially weaker sections of society at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad.
As part of its Smart Healthcare programme, Samsung will be providing advanced and innovative healthcare equipment such as ultrasound and digital radiology (x-ray) manufactured by the company free to specified government hospitals across the country.
The Samsung Smart Healthcare facility was inaugurated by C. Laxma Reddy, Minister for Health, Government of Telangana and Deepak Bhardwaj, Vice President, Samsung India, in the presence of other dignitaries.
"We are pleased to collaborate with Samsung India for this programme. We are committed to offer affordable healthcare facilities for the people of Telangana and welcome the support from Samsung India in helping hospitals cater to the community's needs for quality healthcare," said Reddy.
"Samsung believes in transforming communities and creating a better life for people. We are pleased to partner with the government of Telangana to offer healthcare solutions with the effective use of technology. Through this collaboration, we aspire to provide many more people in Hyderabad and its adjoining areas easy access to advanced healthcare facilities," added Bhardwaj.
Samsung Smart Healthcare program aims to support the government's efforts to benefit communities with limited access to quality healthcare.
With innovative products such as ultrasound, digital radiology and accessories that facilitate healthcare intervention and multiple medical examinations, since 2015, Samsung has collaborated with 16 government hospitals across to country for the Samsung Smart Healthcare program. Doctors, technicians and radiologist are also trained to handle state-of- the-art diagnostic equipment and software.(ANI)
