Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Friday added another chapter to his saga of criticism of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and "sorry state of the economy" under Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government at the Centre.

Accusing Centre of having failed to bring back any significant amount of black money from abroad, Yashwant Sinha appeared to suggest action should be taken against Finance Minister. "In Pakistan, they ousted Prime Minister due to involvement in Panama Case, what did they do here? How much black money did Arun Jaitley bring back?", ANI quoted Sinha as saying.

Yashwant Sinha took a swipe at Arun Jaitley for not coming to Parliament after winning Lok Sabha elections. "Those who sit in Delhi without any public support make such statements, those who need to cater to any constituency will never talk like this," he told ANI. Jaitley on Thursday had called Yashwant Sinha a job applicant at 80 years of age who has forgotten his record as finance minister and is commenting on persons rather than policies.

"During my tenure (as FM) there was never a discussion on inflation in Parliament because we had kept it well under control," claimed Yashwant Sinha.

Further responding to Jaitley's statement of "applicant at 80", Sinha said: "I did not come to politics after retirement. I left my post in IAS. So I could not be asking for a job at the age of 80 years".

Yashwant Sinha invoked BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani's name and said Jaitely should have paid heed to his advice. "He (Arun Jaitley) delivered a well-researched speech but overlooked Advani Ji's advice to refrain from personal attacks," Yashwant Sinha said.

Meanwhile, Congress has accused the finance minister of trying to escape the blame by attacking others. Congress has asked Arun Jaitley to speak on the number of jobs created and the steps taken to revive the economy, instead of making comments which are unacceptable in political life.
