With an aim to resolve the Middle-east conflict, U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to advance the peace process.

During a press conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank on Tuesday, Trump said he was "truly hopeful" that his administration could broker a peace agreement and called his meetings with Arab leaders in the region "deeply productive."

Expressing optimism that a peace deal could finally be brokered to end the nearly 70-year-old conflict and suggested a resolution may not be difficult to obtain it.

"Abbas and Netanyahu promised to do all they can and I look forward to working on lasting peace with these leaders," Trump said.

"I was deeply encouraged by my conversations with Muslim world leaders in Saudi Arabia, including King Salman, who I spoke to at great length and King Salman agrees with me that a peace deal can be achieved between Israel and Palestinians," CNN quoted Trump, as saying.

U.S.-sponsored peace talks between the Israel and Palestinian had collapsed in 2014.

He indicated that his visit to Saudi Arabia has brought him confidence that Arab leaders would also support in reaching a peace deal to resolve the decades long Israeli- Palestine conflict. (ANI)
